SHIRE Inspection Services, formed in February of 2002 with Certified Inspector Ralph M Smith bringing 20+ years of residential/commercial construction experience to your home inspection. 
   Starting out in the 70’s working for general contractors, to the late 90’s as a Superintendent for a national, commercial, roofing contractor, Ralph has 20+ years Commercial/Industrial/Residential construction experience that he brings to your home inspection. This “hands on” experience is in carpentry {structural and finish}, masonry, plumbing, heating, electrical, and roofing, gives Ralph an edge in understanding the components of your new home. Many inspectors only background is 120 hours of classroom training, a test and 40 hours of field inspection! {NYSDOS licensing guidelines}

  Ralph became certified in superior investigative techniques from the premier Home Inspection training firm in the area,{ABITCO} and INACHI. [InterNational Association of Certified Home Inspectors] After completing 1000 home inspections Ralph became a board certified CMI, {Certified Master Inspector}
 Attending continuing education seminars approved by New York State Dept of State and professional home inspection associations, {INACHI and ASHI} Ralph continues to educate himself to bring the total package together for your home. 
After completing training and becoming a Certified Thermographer, we offer thermal scans to find most hidden defects in insulation, moisture intrusion and heat transfer.
All this to adds up to a combination of 27 years experience in Home Inspection and the residential/commercial construction industry.
