During a Frankfort NY commercial property inspection, this life safety defect was found lurking in a dark area of the basement. Exposed duplex outlets are more dangerous than unterminated wiring because they offer an  easily graspable object that beckons to unsuspecting people to reach out and hold. The hot on one side the neutral on the other, grab the outlet to plug somthing in and zing, zoom, boom right to the moon!
